About Fred Campobasso
As Chief Lending Officer at Great Lakes Credit Union in Northern Illinois, Fred oversees commercial, consumer, and mortgage lending, as well as collections. With over two decades in the credit union space, he also serves on the Board of Member Student Lending and the TruTreasury Advisory Board. Deeply committed to community impact, Fred is an active supporter of the Great Lakes Credit Union Foundation for Financial Empowerment, championing programs like food and toy drives, veteran services, and financial literacy.
Fred’s passion lies in empowering underserved communities through responsible lending. His focus on equitable credit access and financial education underscores his belief that credit unions can be powerful vehicles for building generational wealth. Fred holds a BA in Sociology from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s Certificate in Strategy and Execution from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
